- The BAT line on a GM HEI is switched +12V. The HEI I have in my Camaro
- doesn't have an external capacitor, and I don't recall seeing an internal
- one. But its also a backyard installation--my camaro is a 1967 model (predates
- HEI by 7 years). My 82 Rx-7 electronic ignition has a capacitor (looks
- just like a typical automotive condenser from a point type ignition)
- bolted underneath the distributor. Its wired into the same switched +12V
- line that drives the coils and igniters.

- I've never replaced one, so I don't know... I'd look else where for the
- radio static problem. Most common cause I've seen is plug wires.
