  14. Here's a lovely tidbit on the newest patrol car in South Carolina...

  16. About six weeks ago, BMW officially announced that a patch of land adjacent 
  17. to Greenville-Spartanburg airport in Upstate SC would be the site of its      
  18. first North American assembly plant.  On the day of the announcement, BMW 
  19. donated one of their sedans to the Highway Patrol division of the SC Dept.
  20. of Highways and Public Transportation.  After making sure its use wouldn't
  21. violate the state's recently-enacted governmental ethics(oxymoron?) law, it
  22. was decided that the car would be used as a patrol car based in the Upstate.
  23. One lucky officer, almost certainly a longtime Mustang man, will get the job
  24. of driving this new patrol sedan about, catching speeders and such.  The car
  25. is the only 5-speed patrol car with leather seats and a power sunroof.  
  26. Oh yeah, it's an M5.  So if you're ever in SC, keep a lookout for our fleet
  27. of Mustang LX 5.0 notchbacks(both fully marked with lighbar and unmarked in a
  28. rainbow of fruity colors) and one innocuous BMW M5 lurking on and near Inter-
  29. states.
