- i'm seeing some unfair cheap shots at some japanese manufacturers about
- lack of tradition; it is true that most japanese auto companies are
- effectively post wwii in origin, but certainly i wouldn't critique
- them for lack of competition history. no, they haven't every won an
- mille miglia or a targa florio, but that's been rather difficult to
- do of late. just keep in mind that Honda went into F1 in the 60s, and
- has stuck there for a long time, and that there was a guy named Brock
- who used to race something called a `screaming yellow zonker'. also,
- keep in mind that between the great bmw 328 of the 30s and the impressive
- cars of today, BMW made the Isetta and the 700.
