- I sincerely doubt it, unless battery research develops a huge
- breakthrough very quickly. As a former owner of a Porsche and a
- Impact enthusiast (I would buy one if GM would sell it, even at
- $18,000), the Impact would be no match. Even though it _doesn't_ meet
- the DOT safety standards (the Impact does not have the safety beams in
- the doors, or any kind of bumpers, and would never meet the roof
- strength requirements, etc).
