  36. If you don't mind letting a good story get in the way of facts, then you might 
  37. be right. Yes, the current M5 is a heavy car - although its lighter than the
  38. Stealth/3000GT TTs. On the other hand, it is clean through the air, it has 315
  39. genuine German HP and peels off 0-60 in under 6 seconds. Not too shabby for a
  40. fat old man's car :O)

  42. The RX7 is barely any faster in the real world (ditto for 300ZX, Corvette, etc)
  43. and the M5 is supremely quiet and comfortable. Don't believe me, go drive one
  44. (if you can persuade a dealer to let you). The M5 is *the* best touring car in
  45. the world, IMHO, but if it isn't the only alternative is also a gotterdamerung
  46. German - the MB 500E.
