- Hey friend, do yourself a favor, don't ever, ever go into business for
- yourself. Two to four percent over cost? That's the gross, now take out
- overhead, property taxes, sales commissions, (forget income taxes, you
- aren't making any income :-\).

- Not to mention the markup on parts. My Probe (MX-6) threw a plastic wheel
- cover. Asked my dealer if he stocked them and he said no, and even if he
- did I wouldn't buy one. When I asked why he said 'would you pay $118.60
- for a plastic wheelcover?'. I presume Ford gets all Probe parts from
- Mazda and flows them through, probably with a handling charge - say 2%.
-
- In our area, King Saturn has had such good response to the sales
- approach at the Saturn dealership, they are applying it to their
- other dealerships (Pontiac, Mercury-Lincoln, and some others I forget).
