- I also have a 1988 Mazda 323 (w/79K miles). It has been an excellent car
- and I would buy another one when this one starts to give me trouble.
-
- Up to now the only problem I have had was a squealing of my brakes at
- about 50K miles. It is interesting, but the dealer also said that the
- type of wearing was usually attributed to "riding the brakes." I drive
- 65 miles a day Monday through Friday, of which 62 miles a day are
- highway miles. The three miles of "city" driving involve a total of
- 6 stop-and-go situations. I do not ride the brakes, and if there are
- other people with similar experiences, then maybe there is a problem
- with the design for at least the '88 Mazda 323s.
