- Their are two "standards" (I use this term loosely) for stereo equipment.
- The traditional is the amplifier Class A, A/B, B which refers to the
- method employed for amplification.

- The other "Class-A" identification which you noted in Stereophile applies
- to Stereophile's ranking of stereo equipment and has nothing to do with
- amplification.

- Their Classes A-D are rankings of the musicallity of the equipment. The
- major differentiator being the cost. Class-A implies "cost is not an
- object" and so forth. Stereophile publishes their recommended components
- and the description of the classifications ~6 months.
