  11. When I added my center channel speaker, the dialog become much easier to
  12. understand than it was when running in Phantom mode.  I attribute this to a
  13. combination of comb filter effects (which don't occur with a single speaker)
  14. and that only the dialog is being reproduced in the center channel and the
  15. sound track is mostly in the front speakers.

  17. A center channel is desirable but not necessary.  You could leave it for an
  18. upgrade option when you have more money available and still not be disappointed
  19. with a ProLogic receiver.
