  17. _Bored_ has its good bits, but it is very uneven, and VERY dated.  It was
  18. a lot funnier in the mid-70's.  Somebody who doesn't personally remember
  19. the various advertising slogans and trade names used to parody elvish
  20. may miss a lot.  Still, if you take the original Tolkien preface "Concerning
  21. Hobbits", and compare the "Concerning Bogies" section out of _Bored_, you
  22. can see what an absolutely brilliant parody ought to look like.  I wish
  23. they had parodied the rest of it that well.
