- The standards are copyrighted and not available online. The bruno
- distribution, an experiment at making them available which met with much
- more success than expected (or, some would say, desired), was asked to
- stop. Carl Malamud, who set up bruno, is leading a movement to make all
- standards public domain (no one should have control over the
- accessibility of standards!), or at least for now making them available
- online. If you would like to (electronically) sign his petition saying
- you think standards should be available to everyone, send him mail at
- carl@malamud.com.
