  29.    The standards are copyrighted and not available online.  The bruno
  30.    distribution, an experiment at making them available which met with much
  31.    more success than expected (or, some would say, desired), was asked to
  32.    stop.  Carl Malamud, who set up bruno, is leading a movement to make all
  33.    standards public domain (no one should have control over the
  34.    accessibility of standards!), or at least for now making them available
  35.    online.  If you would like to (electronically) sign his petition saying
  36.    you think standards should be available to everyone, send him mail at
  37.    carl@malamud.com.
