- If you have a Van Scoy near you, head straight there. If you don't
- it's well worth the trip up to rochester. It is right off of 390
- at the jefferson road exit in the Cohoes commons.
-
- I went there for my engagement ring, and the poor sales girl spent almost
- two hours with me explaining different quality of diamonds, different
- cuts, different settings, and she NEVER tried to talk me up to a
- higher price. I got a beautiful diamond which my wife loves.
-
- Another hint: often times jewelers will try to talk you into getting
- a higher quality diamond than you need. I got one with a tiny flaw that
- you can only see under something like 100x magnification. If you
- can't see it under 10x magnification, don't worry about it. You can get
- a very nice diamond very reasonably if you are not too snobby about something
- nobody but a jeweler will ever notice.
-
- Good Luck!
