- While running nntp version 1.5.11 on a Sun IPC, SunOS 4.1.1, users
- using NetNews for the MacIntosh from an outside network appear to
- be able to see restricted groups (but not access them). This
- is not true of users running any of the UNIX Newsreaders or NetNews
- on the local network, and we haven't had the opportunity to test
- access by UNIX systems on the remote network. Any ideas why
- nntp_access allows this. I assumed setting the default entry to
- the following would cover anyone not specified afterward:
-
- default read post !alt.sex
-
- No, we're not trying to censor anything--just trying to keep things
- uncensored by avoiding questions from certain MAC-based supervisors
- who may have different ideas on what's appropriate on a network.
