  15.     I am looking for a software package for microsoft windows that has some
  16. or all of the following features:

  19.     1. grammar check
  20.     2. spell check
  21.     3. identification of apparent target audience 
  22.     4. the ability for an 'instructor' to communicate with
  23.        a student as they are writing
  24.

  26.    IBM has a product called Writer's Studio. This is almost exactly
  27. what I want, but IBM is competing on the same bid I am and is
  28. not willing to unbundle the software from their overpriced network
  29. server :-) They haven't got a snowball's chance in the HOT PLACE
  30. of getting this deal after their past behavior at the site in question
  31. but we are about to see a six figure number of your tax dollars blown 
  32. to bits if I don't find something soon. Any sort of writing-assistant
  33. program would be of interest ...
