-
- Well, if you are living with a disability you need rather an
- attorney that a doctor or social worker. Disability is not (yet) a
- law-abiding way of living so everyone can say/write anything he/she
- likes since the verbal and written stupidities are tax-free and
- law-abiding.
-
- Here is an example of the Greek stupidity: From the 4.500 books and
- articles which was written during the last 60 years about the
- Special Education, the 91% of those is about the psychological
- problems of the maladjasted persons!
-
- > have seen mothers with no arms diaper their child and
- > prepare meals. I have see deaf and blind individuals raise
- > normal children and teach successfully in our schools.
-
- I 've seen breast-less mothers who had lost the trusteeship of
- their kids, right after the masto-excision!
-
- > The clowns who write articles against persons with
- > disabilities experiencing parental responsibilities is
- > totally out of touch with modern thinking. I can only
- > assume that they are acting out of ignorance or prejudice.
-
- I think that those "writers" want to make a best seller, they know
- that magazines such as the "Insitement" or the "Disability Rag" can
- never sell enough, so they try to cajole their publishers and their
- readers by adopting conservative attributes, reproducing the mass
- ignorance and the social prejudices.
-
- I also think that the majority of the writers with disabilities
- avoid the adoption of the radical ideas and expressions because
- they are copying the abled bodied carriers. From their writings the
- typical reader can not understand if the writer have a personal
- experience of the handicap. Ususually they use their personal
- disability only if they don't have rational arguments to support
- their ideas, so they reconstruct their disability image in order to
- mislead the shallow-brained readers.
