  18. Hi Doug!  Thanks for your thoughtful and personal message.  I
  19. understand your reason for joining the NFB and I think it is a sound
  20. one.  I also agree with your analysis of what scenarios wmight occur
  21. after Jernigan leaves--except for one thing.  Jernigan, I'm sure, is
  22. devoting his brilliant mind to setting up a power system with checks
  23. and contingencies such that his desired successors and management
  24. philosophy will continue in his tradition long after.  Consider the NFB
  25. time capsule that he compiled materials for and buried some secret
  26. place a few years ago.  It is to be opened in the NFB's 100th
  27. anniversary year (2040).  It is clear that this man thinks ahead and is
  28. not going to leave his succession to chance (or a self-determined
  29. membership process).
