  11. V-Com did me very well.  I ordered a 386/40 with 100 meg drive, 128k cache,
  12. etc...  They put a 124meg drive (Maxtor) and a 256k cache into it.  Never did
  13. get a very good explanation for why, but that system is the fastest 386
  14. machine I have ever seen, and runs perfectly.  I took the standard keyboard
  15. option, and though the keys feel great, the whole thing is a little small.
  16. (There isn't much space at the top for keyboard templates)  Everything else
  17. was exactly as ordered over the phone.

  19. One thing I wondered about, they installed windows in real mode.  386/40 with
  20. 4 megs ram.  Real mode?  Took 10 mins to fix, but for the longest time I was 
  21. wondering why the stupid thing wouldn't run half of the windows apps we had.
