- One of my brothers also is having problems with MicroLab. He ordered a
- Seagate hard drive that constantly gave problems. After several calls to them
- where they did not return the call, he finally was allowed to return it. This
- took a few weeks. He is now hard-drive-less and is awaiting the replacement
- drive (same brand, etc).
-
- Another brother recently ordered a 486-50 MHz from Strobe computers and
- received only a 486-33 MHz. After several weeks of assuring him that they
- were sending the 50 MHz board for him to swap out, they finally told him that
- he only ordered and paid for the 33 MHz board. He had taped the original
- conversation and they claimed it was "made-up". All he wanted to do at this
- point was return the system for a full refund, but they said he'd have to pay
- a 15% restocking fee. Then they threatened him with court. He is getting
- his money back from VISA. Steer clear of Strobe - others have had similar
- problems with them.
