  28. Just say YES to a split.  Any split will do.  This group is usually
  29. not worth the effort to "read" because its one big BLUR on the screen.
  30. Even with a threaded news reader.  Hardware can be split: ibm-compatiable,
  31. apple, and other.  Software can be done the same way.  That would 
  32. *vastly* improve readability of this group.  And it doesnt take any 
  33. more time to read two or three groups of interest since you would be
  34. trying to read them as *one big mess* the way it is now.  An as to
  35. cross postings - flame the poster.  They won't do it again since this
  36. group is quite vocal in its opinions.

  38. So, since I've said this much, I am going the extra step to formally
  39. propose a RFD on this subject.  LETS SETTLE THIS ONCE AND FOR ALL.
  40. Follow ups on RFD's should be directed to news.groups ONLY as per
  41. Usenet group creation guidelines.  The RFD, to start, will be general
  42. and will ask for a minimum split of this group into
  43.     misc.forsale.computers.hardware
  44.     misc.forsale.computers.software
  45.  
  46. and further a maxium (at least for purposes of this RFD) split into
  47.     misc.forsale.computers.hardware.ibm
  48.                        .apple
  49.                        .other
  50.     misc.forsale.computers.software.ibm
  51.                        .apple
  52.                        .other

  54. The purpose of the RFD will be to determine which, if any of these
  55. or some modification thereof, shall be the basis for superceding this
  56. group.
