- Excellent post! Exactly what I had in mind(!) IMHO, all teachers should
- be made aware before they teach a single day that there is a "sociology
- of the classroom"; each teacher should strive, in whatever way suits her/his
- style, to develop a "class atmosphere" where excellent learning and excellent
- performance are the norms. The students, when they enter the class, "are"
- independent variables, but they quickly become dependent - and the hope is
- that the teacher can direct this dependence toward high performance and lead
- it away from cynicism, discouragement, and apathy.
