  27. Why is it such a greedy, shortsighted ploy? It is an experiment. They
  28. felt they were offering the public something they wanted and that the
  29. public would be willing to pay for it. Granted, maybe they charged too
  30. much (no, they charged too much!) but hopefully they will
  31. learn for their mistakes. I've gotta believe that if it was $75 instead
  32. of $125 they would have had well over twice as many people sign up.

  34. But hey, if you don't want to pay, don't do it. There is still NBC
  35. coverage. Nobody is forcing anyone to pay. I felt that it would be 
  36. worth it for me. I hate watching commercials and stories about Matt
  37. Biondi's sister's cousin's friend's dog. :-) (slight exaggeration).
  38. Since last Sunday the TV has almost overheated. Everyone in the house
  39. (except for our 9 mo old) are olympic fanatics and love watching
  40. end to end commercial free events. (Heck, watching that first Volleyball
  41. game against Japan that went to 5 sets (Live) was almost worth it alone).
  42. Some of the swimming qualifying heats have been more exiting than the
  43. finals.

  45. Sure I wish it was cheaper. I had to think about it quite a while before
  46. I signed up. So far I have been happy I took the plunge. I can't afford
  47. a Corvette ZR-1 and I think it is way too much money to pay for a car
  48. but I don't think Chevy should go bankrupt because they offer it.

  50. Just another viewpoint from one of the few that actually has the OTC.
