- I don't know about the proper way, but I just sent back my Visa to
- a bank in Boston (where I no longer live); I cut it into a couple of
- pieces and attached a note saying I'd decided not to use it anymore.
- I received a check in the mail shortly thereafter for the unused
- portion of my annual fee.

- didn't give any reasons.
