- I, too, have an HMO for a few reasons. The main one was "the doctor's
- on vacation this week" followed by "the office is closed call Dr. XXX
- if you need assistance". Mine didn't want to be bothered one iota
- after the office closed for the day.

- Since joining the HMO, there were four instances of operations being
- needed (no, we aren't unhealthy; the law of averages caught up with
- us), two of which were for conditions that the original doctor just
- plain ignored.

- My total medical costs have dropped, care improved dramatically and
- my family is better off medically now than before.
