- I did some bookcase shopping about a year ago, and also came to the
- conclusion that IKEA was overpriced for stuff of only reasonably good
- quality. For a similar price to IKEA, I thought the stuff from This
- End Up looked much sturdier. ANother option (which I opted for) was
- to wait for a sale at Scan (local Scandinavian furniture store), which
- has MUCH better furniture than IKEA. I agree that the bargain basement
- stuff is worthless. 2 other points: try to avoid getting reamed on
- delivery charges, and at least consider buying used.
