  12. I have two pair of Rockperts that I have had for many years.  One pair is
  13. about trashed.  The other still looks good and has been resoled 3 or 4
  14. times.  Great shoes BUT the Rockports of today are not the same level
  15. of quality.  Since Reebock bought them out, Rockports have largely been
  16. living on their reputation.  It's good to see that people are finally
  17. beginning to recognize the decline in the quality of the product.

  19. As one poster pointed out, several manufacturers make a line of shoes
  20. similar to Rockports.  From what I have observed, when I finally retire
  21. the current pair of Rockports, I will look at one of the competitors.

  23. As to Timberlines.  They are of good quality and will give good service
  24. but they are outrageously expensive.  Dexter, Bass, Lands' End and LL
  25. Bean all make shoes of comperable quality and style to Timberlines
  26. at significantly better prices.
