- I recently had an unpleasant experience with a firm that converts super-8 film
- to vidocasette. Shot with a very sharp Bolex macrozoom, the film was very
- natural (color) and clean. What I received was a vcr (fast speed, of course) in
- which flesh colors often were yellow or even green. When I objected, the
- manager of the firm claimed that it was the fault of the film. I then took the
- film and tapes to another firm which told me that the first one had not done
- proper color correction. They did the job all over, much improved. The first
- firm when confronted with this stonewalled again, claimed their own equipment
- was better(!) and that the 2nd firm cheated by devoting too much time or effort
- to the job (!). After enough of this, I put a stop order on the check and have
- written to the Better Business Bureau (because of the refusal of the first firm
- to do anything). I wonder if others have had similar experiences in the
- transfer process.--
