- I'll give you an example I heard from the co-author of an accounting textbook.

- When they drew up their contract they initially had a clause in it whereby if
- for some reason they later decided not to jointly do a revision but both
- wanted to do it separately, they would flip a quarter to see who got the
- 'rights' to the title. The winner got the book, the loser got the quarter.
- (Their lawyer took out the latter part of that clause, though.)
