- Apparently the French and the British will be
- doing most of the bombarding of any Iraqi targets,
- which is likely to save the Bush administration some
- embarassment should it all come to that. During a
- conversation with a journalist who covers the United
- Nations, I also learned that Bhoutros Galli has
- achieved a certain independence, which, from my
- perspective, will be extremely helpful to the United
- Nations movement.
- I found this out, but I forgot to enquire how
- important the US Navy battlegroup stationed in the
- Mediterranean would be, or, for that matter, what sort
- of targets the United Nations would select as
- suitable. One must assume that weapons' producing
- centres which were not completely demolished on the
- last run, as well as others which we ignored until we
- started looking at the paperwork - and of which we the
- public have learned only of late - will provide
- sufficient targets.
-
- Looks as though Saddam's in deep doo-doo, too-
- too.
