- "Silicon Valley Report", a just-cancelled PBS show here quoted AT&T
- shortly thereafter as saying their letter on the subject did not
- evidence any inclination on their part to take legal action -- though
- I for one was hard put to read it any other way than as the usual
- lawyerly polite-but-firm letter intended to threaten legal action, if
- not preceed it.

- Perhaps reaction, on this news group and elsewhere, made AT&T feel the
- dubious benefits of the lawsuit were outweighed by the certainty of a
- extremely negative reaction among at least a small group of current
- and potential customers. Or perhaps it's case of my totally
- misinterpreting what's happening in the industry (neither the first or
- last time for that).
