- I am having considerable difficulty trying to run the configure script.
- The reason is because the machine vendor has nothing to do with it.
-
- The machine is a sparc, and the operating system is system v release 4.
- Since svr4 is standard (well, close enough), I shouldn't have to provide
- a vendor. However, configure insists that I can't use
-
- sparc-unknown-svr4
-
- What can I use?
-
- The machine vendor is actually ICL, and we have done the reference port of
- sysvr4 to the sparc architecture. There are no features or ommissions from
- this machine, that make it different from stock svr4.
-
- How do you suggest I get around this?
-
- There are also 'bugs' in configure for the other parts of gdb, in that it
- uses the bsd side of things (eg alloca.h which is in /usr/ucbinclude),
- and not the system v side which is what it should.
-
- Thanks for your time,
-
- Roger
