- The i860 port is being worked on by Ron Gullmette, Richard Stallman, Howard Chu
- and myself (Although I am struggling with the i860BE port so I am an oddball of
- sorts ...) I believe Simon Cooper is still testing the port.
- (If I left a name out send flames to /dev/null ..:-}>
-
- The source can be obtained through prep.ai.mit.edu /pub/gnu
- You want gcc-2.2.2
-
- NOW for the bad news .. The i860.md is brain dead and needs a lot of work to
- start producing efficient code. There are times EVEN with the -O2 turned on in
- which an instruction that requires a register to be loaded follows the load
- instruction.
-
- BUT with some cooperation from the NET .. the i860 guru's in this world
- actually may make a difference and improve the current gcc port ...
