  19. The i860 port is being worked on by Ron Gullmette, Richard Stallman, Howard Chu
  20. and myself (Although I am struggling with the i860BE port so I am an oddball of  
  21. sorts ...) I believe Simon Cooper is still testing the port.

  27. NOW for the bad news .. The i860.md is brain dead and needs a lot of work to  
  28. start producing efficient code. There are times EVEN with the -O2 turned on in  
  29. which an instruction that requires a register to be loaded follows the load
  30. instruction.

  32. BUT with some cooperation from the NET .. the i860 guru's in this world  
  33. actually may make a difference and improve the current gcc port ...
