  29. Everyone I have asked, including info from FSF, indicates that the
  30. highest version available for g++ is 1.40 or so, while the highest
  31. version for the g++ library is 2.2.2 or so.

  33. How are so many folks talking about g++ 2.1?  Since I am not on the
  34. internet (a long story unto itself) I cannot do anonymous FTP's even
  35. if I am handed the addresses on a silver LCD screen.  Would someone
  36. _please!_ e-mail to me or post info about where I can get the sources
  37. via e-mail?

  39. Also, the postings I have seen in this newsgroup leave me confused:
  40. Do I need gcc to compile g++?  Or can I do it with my native C
  41. compiler?  (My target is an HP 9000/800 series machine.)
