- Hi,
-
- After mailing a response to the person who asked about
- aliases I wondered if there's any way to have vm write
- aliases to the .mailrc file. I like the way elm
- not only enquires the different fields you might want
- to write in an alias, but also how it will alias the
- address of someone who's written you. It also includes
- the name by which you wish to address that person. What
- I don't like about it is how it does so much apart from
- the local mail or mailx programs. I'd kind of like things
- to be consistent. That is, I wish elm would use the .mailrc
- for as much as it could especially aliases.
-
- That's a pretty long winded way around my question:
- is it possible to have VM
- a) write an alias to the .mailrc
- b) associate a name with that alias by which you address the
- person you're mailing to
- c) alias someone who has written you.
-
- Thanks,
- Richard
-
- p.s. I did let him know that emacs mailers look up the
- aliases in the .mailrc file.
