  12. I just installed ESIX System V Release 4.0.4 with the X11 Motif server.  I set
  13. up Emacs-18.58 config to use the standard s-esix5r4.h and m-intel386.h files.
  14. I've gone through several different permutations of the library listings in
  15. the s-esix5r4.h #define's with no luck.  I can execute the resulting xemacs
  16. with the -nw option and it runs.  However, when I try to run it as an X
  17. application I get an XIO error 14 (bad address).  I've tried setting the
  18. DISPLAY variable to either unix:0 or `hostname`:0 with no difference in
  19. results.  Has anyone else done this?  Can anyone explain why I have to list
  20. the -lsocket and -lc libraries *before* the -lX11 library?
