-
- hi, this is my first posting to this newsgroup. all my postings here will
- contain either "tlQ" or "tlA", depending on whether i wanna question or
- ask something.
-
- i ftped lispdir.el and LCD-datafile.Z from archive.cis.ohio-state.edu.
- i installed these files in /usr/local/emacs/lisp and /usr/local/emacs/etc,
- respectively. i did the changes (that lispdir.el mentioned) in my .emacs.
-
- i also got crypt.el and ange-ftp.el. i did the change (that crypt.el
- mentioned) in my .emacs.
-
- i byte-compiled all the .el files i ftp'ed.
-
- with this setup, the command lisp-dir-apropos is *recognized* by my emacs.
-
- i edited the variable lisp-code-directory (mentioned in lispdir.el) to be
- /usr/local/emacs/etc/LCD-datafile.Z.
-
- however, lisp-dir-apropos can't find the LCD-datafile! why not!?
-
-
-
- thanking in advance for your helpful advice,
