- While it is a good thing to make a news client (ie gnus) comply to
- the written rule, note that common usage of many protocols based on a
- simplified telnet accept CR-NL, CR-0, and NL.
- The servers should generally accept all of these, since there are
- too many clients that break the written rule. I suggest you also
- modify your NNTP server to be more liberal in what it accepts.
