- A thought just occured to me. Considering that you can not legally have Motif on
- a machine , unless you have a license , and since 500,000 Motif were shipped
- as of end of 1991 then the following comes to mind
-
- Shipped Sun Sparcs =550,000 Shipped all else = ??? (HP,DEC,IBM,SGI,SCO, etc...)
-
- Installed base Installed Base
-
- Motif OW or SunVIEW Motif Everything else Total Motif
- ------ ------------- ------ --------------- -----------
- 500,000 50,000 0 ?? 500,000
- 400,000 150,000 100,000 ?? "
- 300,000 250,000 200,000 ?? "
- 250,000 300,000 250,000 ?? "
- 200,000 350,000 300,000 ?? "
- 100,000 450,000 400,000 ?? "
- 0 550,000 500,000 ?? "
-
- Or something in between. What is wrong with my reasoning ???
- ( Am I wrong ???).
