  13. Mr. Oliver Jones does an excellent job discussing the
  14. implementation of "Multi-User Application Software Using
  15. Xt" in the Summer 1992 issue of The X Resource.
  16.  
  17. Mr. Jones mentions that the client must arrange for
  18. authorization to connect to multiple servers.  We can
  19. handle the authorization problems, but we have run
  20. into another gotcha when opening the display.
  21.  
  22. When the client attempts to open a server which
  23. is running XDM, the XtOpenDisplay blocks until someone
  24. logs into the server.  This is not acceptable.
  25.  
  26. How can we either:
  27.  
  28.  -- Query the server to determine that XDM
  29.     is running and no one is logged in?  (Or
  30.     even better that a XtOpenDisplay will block.)

  32.  -- Have XtOpenDisplay timeout?
