  14. The second beta release of XPaint 2.0 is now available for use, it can
  15. be FTPed from export.lcs.mit.edu or found in a recent alt.sources

  25.         Welcome to the current release of XPaint 2.0.  What does XPaint do
  26. for you?  Why many wonderful things of course.  XPaint is a reasonably 
  27. versitile bitmap/pixmap editing tool.  XPaint came out of a problem editing
  28. some very large bitmap, and wanting more functionality then was provided
  29. by bitmap, after XPaint 1.0 sat around for a LONG time, I finally ended up
  30. with a strong need to edit color pixmaps.  Presto, this is what has appeared
  31. from that problem.

  33. XPaint is able to read X11 Bitmap's and the PNM format from the PBMPLUS 
  34. toolkit (which is available in many archives near you).

  36. There is one REQURIREMENT, which is that you have a compiler that
  37. understands void* and prototypes.

  39. Features XPaint provides:
  40.         Usual paint operations:
  41.                 Brushes, Erasers, Spray paint, Pencil
  42.                 Lines, Arcs, Pattern Fill, Text,
  43.                 Boxes, Circles, Polygons.
  44.         Works on multiple images simultaniously.
  45.         Cut/Copy/Paste between all active images.
  46.         Fatbits on the image windows.

  62.         Colormaps and 24 bit images need to be done better
