  12. Is there an enviroment variable that can be set to tell various X-windows
  13. programs to find the app-default file somewhere other than $OW/lib/app-default?

  15. I prefer to install third-party software (this includes stuff from the net) in
  16. /usr/local/lib/X11/app-default.
