  14. What is the accepted way to set DESTDIR. I can't modify the Makefile to
  15. include it since imake will come along sometime and nuke my changes. Other
  16. files that have potential of fixing this say they shouldn't be changed.

  18. I have already fumble fingered once and had to restore some files
  19. because X installed where it wasn't supposed to go. If I have this
  20. problem, what's the poor shmo that comes along after me (and desides
  21. "make install" is a good thing to type) going to do.

  23. To sum up: Do I really have to type "make install DESTDIR=/blahh" every
  24.            time I need to install?
