  11. Hi, netters:
  12.     We installed PC-NFS on a PC running DOS 5.0. We are trying to 
  13. connect the PC to a file server which is a SUN Sparc workstation.
  14. The installation and configuration processes went through 
  15. smoothly. However, we could not connect to the server from the PC. 
  16. When I ran nisdomain, it was fine; but when I ran nisset as 
  17. "nisset hostname", it told me that "hostname is not the nis server
  18. for the domain hostname".

  20.     I tried to use command "ping hostname". I was told "hostname is 
  21. unreachable". I also tried telnet and unable to open connection.
  22. We did edit /etc/hosts, /etc/ethers, etc. And we also ran 
  23. the "rpc.pcnfsd" on the server.

  25.     The server is connected to several other sparcs through an 
  26. Ethernet. They work well. 
  27.  
  28.     Can anyone tell me where the problem might be?
