- Hi, netters:
- We installed PC-NFS on a PC running DOS 5.0. We are trying to
- connect the PC to a file server which is a SUN Sparc workstation.
- The installation and configuration processes went through
- smoothly. However, we could not connect to the server from the PC.
- When I ran nisdomain, it was fine; but when I ran nisset as
- "nisset hostname", it told me that "hostname is not the nis server
- for the domain hostname".
-
- I tried to use command "ping hostname". I was told "hostname is
- unreachable". I also tried telnet and unable to open connection.
- We did edit /etc/hosts, /etc/ethers, etc. And we also ran
- the "rpc.pcnfsd" on the server.
-
- The server is connected to several other sparcs through an
- Ethernet. They work well.
-
- Can anyone tell me where the problem might be?
-
- Thanks in advance.
