- I want to allow a remote machine (Apollo DN4500) to print at my
- machine (DS3100 Ultrix 4.1 - ok I should upgrade, but don't say because of
- lpd is broken)
-
- For this purpose I entered the remote machine in /etc/hosts.lpd
- and entered the appropriate /etc/printcap entry for the remote printer.
-
- (My printer is a printer defined as a LAT device, BTW).
-
- Now there seem some requests already waiting at the remote hosts (client).
- When I start (by hand) /usr/lib/lpd after a few seconds I have some
- Zombie processes.
-
- The remote lpq command tells me that I have to 'printer access' to the host machine.
-
- Is there a know problem in that area? Or should I just reboot and try again?
- I would like to reboot my machine. It has an uptime of 78 days.
