- I know of several 3rd party software companies which have policies
- like this, as well as at least one other workstation vendor.

- I am not sure what DEC's policy is for educational institutions in
- Canada, but here in the U.S.A., software licenses are FREE via the
- Campuswide Software Licence Grant (CSLG) program. We purchase the
- CDROM Consolidated Distribution service and install new version of
- any package that's covered under CSLG from the CDROM. If telephone
- support is needed, then optionally you can buy the Educational
- Software Library (ESL) service. All along I thought Canada was
- included in the CSLG/ESL deal, but maybe they have something similar.
