  13. I've got a Practical Peripherals 9600SA modem connected to a DECstation
  14. 5000/125 running Ultrix 4.2. I know the modem and cable work, because I
  15. can use kermit from the 5000 to dial out, and in fact I am doing that 
  16. right now.

  18. My problem is tip (and uucp). When I use tip to call out, it dials the
  19. number, tells me it's waiting for a carrier. About 10 seconds later,
  20. the modem connects (I can tell by the led lights on the modem), but
  21. the tip program never gets the message, and it eventually times out
  22. saying no carrier detected.

  24. It seems obvious to me that my /etc/acucap file is not configured
  25. properly. I have for DAYS to get it right, and I still can't. Can
  26. someone who has some experience with acucap help me out?
