  10. Just when I thought all was looking up, I've come over a bit of a
  11. problem.  The gnu ld bails out in mid link.

  13. System    =    DecSystem 5900  Ultrix 4.2a
  14.         GCC 2.1  (stage 3 compiler and ld)  
  15.         gcc config'd as mips-dec-ultrix

  18. The problem happens while building imake from the Motif distribution
  19. (not a very tall order for a C compiler).  The error is :-

  22. pid xxxxx (ld) was killed on an unalligned access at pc 0x4028fc
  23. gcc: Internal compiler error: program ld got fatal signal 10.

  26. If I copy the Ultrix ld into /usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/.... and rename the
  27. gnu ld, all works fine.
