  19. Don't know what bugs were fixed, 'cause I upgraded from AT&T 5.3.
  20. I do know that in the ESIX 4.0.4 I have now, the time maintained by
  21. the operating system is always one hour ahead of the hardware clock.
  22. ESIX says they know about it, blames it on USL's code, and says it's
  23. pretty low priority.  Got around it by (how clever) setting the hardware
  24. clock back one hour.  Kind of unsatisfying, but it works.

  26. Have had no end of problems getting the *local* printer to work.  If I
  27. set it up using the built in serial ports (tty00 in this case), I can't
  28. even get anything to go to the printer (used the menu-driven setup, also
  29. tried doing it with lpadmin as I used on V.3...no luck).  If I use one
  30. of my add-on ports (Brumby with the older, 2.8s stream driver), I get
  31. a banner page to print, but nothing else.  If I use a postscript interface
  32. supplied by ELAN Computing (for my troff package eroff), I get a reply
  33. from the printer that it's seen garbage and is flushing.  The offending
  34. character is nearly always "$x" where X varies.  All these things worked
  35. great with V.3.  I've had ESIX 4.0.4 only a few days, so maybe there're
  36. tricks I haven't learned yet, both with this particular version and with
  37. V.4 in general.  SO far I'm not impressed.
