- BTW, the original DAK $200 CDROM special works fine with a
- Adaptec 1542A for accessing CDROM files with either SCO ODT 2 or
- MS Windows New Tech beta. I didn't check its operation with the
- NT CD-player.

- With ODT, accessing the CDROM brings hard disk I/O to a crawl.
- I don't consider that a serious problem for most Unix CDROM uses.

- N.B.: the new DAK catalog does not mention SCSI CDROM drives.
