- I think this is a great pity. It does seem to me that Donn got rather carried
- away, but his postings to this group have been helpful in the main and have
- been one of the reasons why Dell has been the darling of this group recently.

-
- Again I think that this is a mistake. I have been watching this from the
- sidelines (I bought ESIX before I even knew Dell made a Unix) and my
- overall impression is still that Dell is a good company producing a good
- product. A net.presence is good marketing tool and I would hope that most
- netters reading this group are perfectly aware that Donn's postings are not
- statements of official policy.
-
- The few who reacted to Donn's postings with "I will never buy Dell again
- after this" were over-reacting and I would imagine are very much in the
- minority; to judge a company on a single Usenet posting is going too far.
-
- Having an employee of Dell posting to this group shows attention to detail
- that other companies don't show. Reading postings from Dell employees
- has sometimes made me wish I had bought Dell rather than ESIX. You should
- not lose this advantage, don't stop posting.
