- I have a non-IBM CD-ROM drive but have been unable to get it working on
- RS-6000. Apparently the method to configure checks for an IBM drive
- (Toshiba) and if it isn't IBM's the method gives error message and exits.
-
- The developers are working on eliminating this restriction as they have
- done with tape drives but as yet I haven't seen anything on how to get
- around this.
-
- I've tried changing the ODM data to match what my drive (Panasonic 600e)
- returns on query, so now the drive define's properly but still won't
- configure.
-
- If anyone has/knows how to get non-IBM drive to work let me know. Maybe
- I can use my CD-ROM before IBM provides the change....

- Take Care!
